The Goetheanum is an institution
founded by Herr Rudolf Steiner focussed on Anthrosophy. It is situated
on the hills outside Dornach, south-southeast of Basel. The general
architectural style lends from the Art Nouveau style. The building
style avoid right angles as they are rarely found in nature. Anthrosophy
embraces study of spiritual science, eurhythmy and nature.

| Goetheanum in winter (February 2001).
The main building has a massive mausoleum
feel to the architecture, although the style is meant to represent
natural shapes, such as trees growing up out of the earth (as evoked
by the upsweep of the walls into the eaves of the roof).
Built 1925 - 1928.

Not too many
smiles here?
The actual reason
is that when you had to pose for 30 seconds exposure you couldn't
smile that long.
